MAYU Sensei

I've been taking classes with Mayu for a couple of months now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. She is incredibly kind, patient, and easy to talk to, which makes learning Japanese both enjoyable and engaging. What truly sets her apart is her generosity with her time and her thoughtful approach to teaching.

During our conversations, she carefully notes down any new words for me and sends them afterward, which has been invaluable for my learning. This not only shows her dedication but also how well she listens and tailors each lesson to my needs. I had only a few lessons with Mayu Sensei but I love it and want to learn more! The lessons are very interesting and exciting, every lesson I learn a lot of new information and new words or grammar. 1: まゆ先生の忍耐。Mayu sensei is patient and calm. Even though Steven is number one idiot student, I never feel like I am annoying you with my bad Japanese.

2: まゆ先生は英語をあまり使いません。Mayu sensei does not use much english in lessons. In the past, teachers have made lessons too easy by helping my struggles with english. You do not use a lot of english, so it forces me to try my absolute hardest to communicate. Even after lessons I find myself using my brain to the max trying to speak in Japanese. I love challenges and this makes lessons very fun. Thank you so much.

3: 準備。Mayu sensei is always prepared for class. In our lessons, there is very little idle silence. You always have some topic to move on to or ask about. This helps keep lessons fun and engaging.

I am currently tooking lessons with Mayu-sensei and she is extremely professional and patient. She encourages me to speak only Japanese and not be afraid of making mistakes. I like her method, especially the fact that she uses different materials to stimulate conversation (e.g. watching anime, reading newspaper articles, etc.). After each lessons she also send me notes on new vocabs and learned expression. I highly recommend to choose her lessons if you know a little bit of grammar and want to experiment real-life conversations. ― By Linda C.

Mayu-sensei is an incredibly patient and supportive teacher who is helping me a lot on my journey to improve my Japanese conversation skills. I really enjoy the free talk classes because they push me out of my comfort zone and encourage me to speak more Japanese, which is something I currently struggle with. Moreover, since we can talk about any topic, the classes are always fun and engaging. Mayu-sensei always explains any words or grammar points I don’t understand in a patient and gentle way, and she always sends me a summary of what I struggled with during the class, which makes it so much easier for me to review and study on my own at home.
